Invisalign® Invisible Braces
A clear path to a beautiful smile
The fact that you are reading about orthodontics means that you are interested in treatment, but chances are there are things holding you back. While there are many factors that can make people feel as though orthodontic care might not be the right choice, one of the biggest reasons people—especially adults and older teens—avoid treatment is because they are worried about how they will look in braces.
With Invisalign, this is not a problem. Invisalign uses clear aligners instead of metal braces to straighten teeth, allowing them to be completely invisible to those around you. In addition to improving the way you look during treatment, these aligners allow you to avoid a lot of the annoyance that comes with braces. Ready to learn more?
Invisalign aligners are revolutionary.
When Invisalign emerged on the market, the world had never seen anything like it. While there had been focus on more aesthetic options in the past, the best we had gotten at the time was lingual braces, which are placed on the backs of the teeth. While out of view, they were still braces. But Invisalign isn’t; it just accomplishes the same thing braces do. The aligners are made from smooth plastic, so they are comfortable to wear. They are also removable, so you do not need to change what you eat or how you brush and floss. And thanks to the 3D technology used to make them, you will even get to see the final result before you begin treatment.
Invisalign allows you to spend less time at the office.
When people think about the difficulties of having braces, they think about the cost, the way they look, and accommodating the appliance in their lives when eating, brushing, and flossing. But something they rarely think about is how much time they spend at our office. Braces take a while to place, and then once they are on, the patient comes back every few weeks for adjustments, which can take some time as well. Invisalign means seeing us every six to eight weeks for very fast checkups since you swap out the aligners, making the adjustments yourself.
Invisalign gets results.
And these results come quickly. You wear the aligners for two weeks each, then swap them out for the next in the series. As you progress through the series, the aligners change the pressure on your teeth, moving them into place. Treatment with Invisalign is completed within an average of 15 months compared to the average of 22 months with traditional braces. This means that you are able to get out of treatment faster, with minimal disruption to your life.
If all of this sounds great to you, it is time to schedule your consultation with Dr. Reagin.
